Objectives - In WP4 the validated fingerprint concepts within the different ESR projects will be integrated with in-line metrology capability. Depending on the type of the fingerprint developed in WP3, either in-process monitoring or product quality assurance, or both, capabilities will be developed.
Description of Work and Role of Partners
Task 4.1 Process monitoring (Lead: UBRAD, Participants: DTU, KUL, UBREM, IPU, USTRAT, POLIMI, TUC, UNOTT (ALL PARTICIPATING ORGANIZATIONS))
To validate the fingerprint concept developed in WP3 in an industrial setting, the micro manufacturing processes within the different ESR projects will be further developed by implementing an in-line process monitoring. Pilot production runs will be conducted to achieve a robust proof-of-technology.
Task 4.2 Product quality assurance (Lead: UBREM, Participants: DTU, KUL, UBRAD, IPU, USTRAT, POLIMI, TUC, UNOTT, (ALL PARTICIPATING ORGANIZATIONS)) To validate the fingerprint concept developed in WP3 in an industrial setting, the quality control of micro products produced by the developed processes will be evaluated by using in-line continuous measuring systems. Pilot production runs will be conducted to achieve a robust proof-of-technology.
Task 4.3 Process/product metrology integration (Lead: IPU, Participants: UBREM, KUL, UBRAD, DTU, USTRAT, POLIMI, TUC, UNOTT, (ALL PARTICIPATING ORGANIZATIONS))
For selected process/product fingerprint concepts, both the in-line process and product metrology systems will be integrated in the same manufacturing platform. In particular, ESR 11 will work towards the integration of optical high speed scanning metrology in a micro injection moulding system. The process/ product metrology integration system will be considered also for the other ESR projects and developed accordingly. A milestone at MICROMAN project month 30 (i.e. ESR project month 24) is set in order to select the most promising settings for integration among the ESR projects.
